Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) is the educational stage that goes from the ages of 12 to 16. It includes four school years of which we have two classes per year group. Bachillerato, or Upper Secondary, forms part of Post-Compulsory Secondary Education and starts after obtaining the ESO certificate.

In these stages, our centre’s pedagogical line is similar to the one followed in Pre-School and Primary, which is evident in the way the classrooms have been designed and equipped. In addition, special attention is paid to aspects of personal development in this important phase of the lives of our students, strengthening among others their capacity to organise themselves, plan and, in particular, make decisions.

In a similar way, we orientate them towards their life after School, through their choice of optional subjects in 4th of ESO and Bachillerato, and by means of intense training for the University Access Exams, in which they obtain excellent results.

English is still a vehicular language for our students. They experience a social and cultural environment at school that draws them closer to the English-speaking world, culminating in the study trip to the United Kingdom in 4th ESO.

During the period of Secondary Education, the students perfect their knowledge in English and are able to take different official exams:

  • 2nd ESO: Preliminary English Test (PET, level B1).
  • 4th ESO: First Certificate (FCE, level B2).
  • Bachillerato: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE, level C1), and Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE, level C2); all of them Cambridge University certificates.

Likewise, students of 4th ESO, before they finish the period of Secondary Education, must pass internal English and French / German exams. These are evaluated by teachers of different levels with the aim of guaranteeing the greatest possible objectivity in the results.

The students of Second Foreign Language (German or French) can also take the external exams that correspond to these languages through the Instituto Francés or Instituto Goethe.

In addition, the number of exchanges (Sweden, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Germany, France) and educational outings available to our students, provide them with extraordinary experiences which are fundamental for the phase in which they find themselves.

An entrepreneurial spirit is already present in the school at previous levels, and it is in the periods of Secondary and Bachillerato when it takes greater shape by means of interdisciplinary and innovative group projects, under the teachers’ supervision, and with the support of the Professorship of Educational Innovation signed with the Faculty of Education of the University of Zaragoza.

Our students of Bachillerato enjoy an entrepreneurship project exclusive to our centre, New Venture Today, designed to allow them to work in a cooperative way, bringing forward entrepreneur initiatives with a social intention, and using English as the working language.
