Juan de Lanuza launches the second edition of “More Life, Less Screens”, finalist at the SIMO Educational Innovation Awards
Students in Year 9 (3rd ESO) at Colegio Juan de Lanuza are taking part in the second edition of “More Life, Less Screens”, an innovative programme designed to promote digital well-being and encourage a conscious, balanced use of technology among teenagers.
Throughout the project, students reflect on their digital habits, analyse the impact of excessive screen time and explore strategies to balance online life with rest, personal relationships and emotional growth. Through guided discussions, practical challenges and critical-thinking activities, they learn to use technology with intention and autonomy.
This pioneering initiative was recently recognised as a finalist at the SIMO Educational Innovation Awards, highlighting its value as a national example of responsible and human-centred digital education.
Led by teacher Ricardo Aguado, the programme forms part of the school’s broader commitment to developing Human Digital Competence, ensuring that students learn not only to use technology, but to understand it, question it and integrate it into their lives in a healthy way.
