Panticosa, Punta Cucuraza, and 74 Smiles Against the Cold
Sometimes, unforeseen events gift us the best experiences. This weekend, the Juan de Lanuza School Mountain Club was ready for its scheduled outing, but the weather had the final say: heavy frost on the original route forced a last-minute itinerary change. The result? A brilliant decision.
Heading towards Panticosa, 74 adventurers of all ages – students, parents, and teachers – showed their sporting spirit and flexibility. Far from being a setback, the new destination offered a spectacular setting for an invigorating day of hiking.
The organization divided the expedition into three adapted routes, allowing everyone, from novice hikers to seasoned mountaineers, to find their pace. The most experienced group managed to reach the summit of Punta Cucuraza, enjoying privileged views of the Pyrenees, while the other groups explored the valley’s slopes and trails in an unbeatable atmosphere of camaraderie.
Beyond sport, these days are the heart of our community: sharing sandwiches, stories, and effort in an unparalleled natural landscape. Thank you to all attendees for ensuring that, whatever the weather, the sun always shines on the Mountain Club.
