Learning from Nature at the Meandro de Ranillas
The 3rd-grade students at Colegio Juan de Lanuza recently enjoyed an enriching educational outing to the Meandro de Ranillas, a natural haven within the city of Zaragoza. This activity was part of the unit of inquiry How We Share the Planet, designed to deepen students’ understanding of ecosystems and the importance of their conservation.
Throughout the day, students actively explored the water cycle and natural filtration systems, discovering how nature purifies water without the use of chemicals. Through observation and experimentation, they identified various plant species and learned about their crucial role in maintaining ecological balance.
Additionally, the visit provided an opportunity to observe the local wildlife, fostering awareness of the interdependence of living beings and the importance of preserving these natural spaces.
Experiences like these strengthen our commitment to an active and experiential education, where learning extends beyond the classroom and directly connects with the world around us.
At Colegio Juan de Lanuza, we remain dedicated to inspiring our students to become responsible, environmentally-conscious citizens.
