A LOVE OF LIFELONG LEARNING
Here at School, we are a community which is passionate about teaching and learning. We want to ignite that same passion in our students and have it follow them throughout their entire lives. What better way, then, than to lead by example?
Newly recruited teaching staff and administrative personnel have started this new school year by receiving training in the fundamental principles of the IB program with Emma García’s workshop “Bringing the PYP to Life: Implementing Agency” to better understand the Primary Years Programme. Meanwhile, our more experienced teachers have delved deeper into their knowledge with Amparo Serra’s workshop on the power of conceptual learning. They have applied what they’ve learned to create stronger central ideas, as well as meaningful and conceptual lines of inquiry for the students.
Furthermore, all area-coordinators have taken part in a fun team-building day led by Silvia Lacruz and Sabina Mediano, where, through games and dynamics, they learned to coordinate and communicate effectively to make their teams function even better in their day-to-day work.
Finally, all teachers received training in assertive communication with María Eugenia Blanco.
We start as we mean to go on – learning for life!
