Colegio Juan de Lanuza Celebrates the International Day of Women and Girls in Science with Two Weeks of Activities
At Colegio Juan de Lanuza, we reaffirm our commitment to STEM education and equal opportunities through a diverse program of activities commemorating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Over two weeks, from January 30th to February 18th, our ESO and Bachillerato students engaged in meetings with experts, hands-on experiments, visits to laboratories, and debates on the role of women in science.
Throughout these sessions, students had the opportunity to attend inspiring talks with researchers and professionals, including María López Valdés, Aroa Ejarque Ortiz, Idoya Jorge Moral, and scientists from Universidad San Jorge. Additionally, they participated in practical activities such as culturing samples in petri dishes, creating scientific comics, and designing educational posters.
To further immerse students in the scientific world, visits were organized to leading institutions such as SAICA and the University of Zaragoza’s laboratories, offering an in-depth look into research and technology careers.
Through this initiative, Colegio Juan de Lanuza strengthens its commitment to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and gender equality in scientific fields, delivering a clear message: Science is for everyone!
