Cristian Ruiz: EU expert promoting technology in our school
We are delighted to announce that Cristian Ruiz, one of our most outstanding teachers, has been selected from professionals across Europe to join a group of 25 experts from the European Union. This team has been convened to develop guidelines for high-quality computer science education, addressing challenges such as the shortage of specialized teachers, curriculum fragmentation, and the need for inclusive and quality educational materials.
The work of this group is crucial to establish computer science as a core discipline in European education. It aims not only to teach students how to use technology but also to understand and create it. With the goal that 80% of the population will have at least basic digital skills by 2030, the contribution of this group of experts is key to meeting the EU’s Digital Decade objectives.
Cristian Ruiz will participate in the next expert group meeting in Brussels, scheduled for November, where he will continue contributing to the improvement of digital education in Europe.
Additionally, this coming Saturday, the 26th, he will represent us at the AI Congress of the Government of Aragón, where he will speak about our school’s approach to teaching AI to our students, not only as responsible and ethical users but also as co-creators of a future where technology should be used for the benefit of humanity. He will also take part in the European Robotics Week and SIMO Educación, Spain’s largest educational congress, where he will present our beloved MakerSpace as an educational experience.
We are proud to have Cristian Ruiz on our team, contributing his vision and dedication to open new opportunities for our students, alongside the entire team around him. His work not only strengthens our educational community but also positions us at the forefront of technological education.
