Learning to Lead and Give Back: Entrepreneurship with a Purpose
Once again, our 5th-grade students at Colegio Juan de Lanuza took part in the “Aprendiendo a emprender” programme by Fundación Ibercaja, affectionately known at our school as “The Cooperative”.
This year’s project was a meaningful one: the students of 5A (Meerkats) and 5B (Koalas) created a comic book honouring 12 outstanding women scientists, from Hypatia of Alexandria to astronaut Sara García Alonso. It all began as a Christmas play and evolved into a full-fledged publication, complete with bookmarks, badges, magnets and stickers—all designed and produced by the students.
The proceeds from their sales will go to ATADES and the Niemann-Pick Association. As part of their social involvement, the students also co-created the 8M (International Women’s Day) poster now on display at the school’s main hall.
This initiative perfectly reflects our belief that education must go beyond academics—it must inspire empathy, action and a sense of purpose in every learner.
