NATURAL LEARNING SPACE
The boys and girls in Infants are already enjoying their newly-inaugurated, outdoor classrooms in their “Natural Learning Space”. This new project is born from our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in educational experience in both content and environment. The positive impact of using outdoor learning spaces on cognitive, physical, social, emotional and creative child development has been shown through extensive empirical research.
Why is learning outdoors important?
Having easy access to the outdoors, regardless of the weather or season, allows children to make their own playtime decisions. It also presents new challenges and helps develop the necessary social skills for resolving conflicts, it develops creative and problem-solving skills, and offers unique experiences such as being in contact with nature, the weather and the seasons.
At Juan de Lanuza School, we are proud to integrate these outdoor learning spaces to expand the classroom activities, thus forming an enriched learning experience for our Infants students. This “Natural Learning Space” ensures that our little ones come to school happy, grow in a healthy, active environment, and enjoy learning.
