The Engineer’s Gaze: Crisantelma Fills Lanuza’s Hall with Color and Technology
Are art and engineering opposite worlds? At Colegio Juan de Lanuza, we are convinced they are not, and the new exhibition adorning our walls is the best proof of this. Until December 18th, we are hosting the work of Crisantelma (Cristina Ruiz), a Valencia-born artist based in Zaragoza whose career breaks the mold.
A Real STEAM Profile – Trained as an Industrial Engineer, Cristina found painting to be a vital process of self-discovery. Far from abandoning technique, she has integrated it into her art. Her creative process is an example of innovation: she draws inspiration from photographs taken during her travels and uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) image generation tools to sketch concepts, which she then materializes using mixed media (spray paint, oils, acrylics on wood or canvas).
From the Asalto Festival to the Classroom With experience in mural interventions in Farlete and recurring participation in Zaragoza’s Festival Asalto, her work conveys an optimistic and vibrant vision of life. But at Lanuza, an exhibition is never just decoration; it is a learning opportunity.
This display will serve as a pedagogical starting point. During the second term, our students will work on projects based on her art, analyzing how Crisantelma captures people’s inner worlds and experimenting with her techniques.
We encourage you to enjoy this collection of original works and prints. If you have any questions about the pieces, we are at your disposal.
