WE PARTICIPATED IN THE EUROPEAN YOUTH PARLIAMENT
Candela Higón, Ana Liso, Álvaro Andía, Bruno Subirá, María Miralles from 4th ESO, participated during a whole weekend in the regional selection conference of the European Youth Parliament.
This is a informal education platform for young people between 16 and 25 years old through training, reflection and debate about the European Union. This year, all activities took place online.
Each student was assigned a topic and an issue of the European Union: Culture and Education, Economy, Industry, Research and Energy, Internal Market and Consumer Protection. Our pupils worked in groups with pupils from other schools, working in different committees, pondering on the problems raised and coming up with solutions. After reaching agreement, they had to write a final resolution, which they will defend at the regional selection.
This is an ideal moment for them to test their linguistic competence in English, as it becomes the language used throughout the weekend. In addition, they can demonstrate their ability in other skills and values, which they acquire from an early age at Juan de Lanuza: project work, oral and team work, companionship and empathy.
