WHAT IS CONTINUOUS PROVISION (CP)?
This questions arises when we go in the infant classrooms and we realize that our students learn in a completely different way. Continuous provision is a new methodology implemented by teachers in Juan de Lanuza.
CP is clearly defined areas of resources that are available to the children to use when and as they choose. These resources can be used independently, or with an adult. This allows the children to consolidate and extend their learning. It also allows for learning through play.
Each area is labelled and resourced to allow the children to practise what they have learnt and to investigate their own ideas. Allowing the children to choose their activity results in greater levels of enthusiasm and engagement and therefore better results.
