WINNERS OF RETOTECH… ONCE AGAIN!
CONGRATULATIONS TEAM!
We are proud to announce that our ICT team, led by Ricardo Aguado, along with our talented students from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ESO (Muriel Jiménez, Daniel García-Escudero, Jacobo Subirá, Laura Cortés, Hugo Gonzalo, and Isabel Angoy), have won the national first prize in the RetoTech competition hosted by Fundación Endesa.
The awarded project, “AI and BitBloq Waste Classifier,” is an impressive waste classification system using artificial intelligence. The team trained an AI system with images to classify various types of waste, sending this information wirelessly to a microcontroller. This microcontroller, connected to a BQ board, identifies the type of waste and activates a continuous rotation motor. An ultrasonic sensor detects when the bin is in the correct position, allowing the waste to fall into the appropriate container.
Additionally, they developed an app in BitBloq Apps that allows control of the conveyor belt and monitoring of the bins’ capacity levels.
Congratulations to everyone for this incredible achievement! Thank you for your passion, dedication, and for being an inspiring guide to all our students.
