EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING TO STUDY AUTUMN
In Primary 1 they have been observing autumn. They have seen how the weather is changing, and how the leaves turn from green to yellow, orange, red and brown, guided by Roz Grimshaw, their teacher.
In Art class they decided to capture autumn using leaves, paint and paper. They went outside one morning to look for interesting leaves in the school playground. They chose big ones, and small ones, leaves of different colours. When they came back into the classroom they carefully painted their leaves, then turned them over onto the paper, waited for them to dry and then slowly peeled them off. The result was some great art works of the autumn leaves.
All this process was done putting in practise the idea of implementing our Experiential Learning methodology. In this way, outdoor education is promoted, thus reducing the risk of contagion of possible viruses.
