The Juan de Lanuza School is characterized by being a different school, a school in movement, recognized as a benchmark in educational innovation and multilingualism.

“A school in movement” is a good way to define the Juan de Lanuza School, a hallmark that characterizes it, since since its creation in 1978, is always moving to stay at the forefront of educational innovation in Aragon.

The current Strategic Plan (2018-2023) enhances the feeling of community and defends fully personalized education within the core student, family and school.

The work of tutoring is individualized from Early Childhood Education and concrete objectives are established so that each child knows their strengths and manages to develop the best of himself. “We firmly believe that our students will leave Juan de Lanuza being excellent human beings capable of solving problems that arise without instructions, adding value to the world around them”, says Pilar Fernández, Director of the center; for this, she adds,  “in addition to academic excellence and the acquisition of knowledge (to know), we seek the development of fundamental values such as empathy, resilience, or ethics ( to be), as well as empowering students to think for themselves and know solve problems in a sustainable environment over time (to create).

A SCHOOL IN MOVEMENT.

Our own methodology often implements new projects, always in a balanced, valued and contrasted way, turning  Juan de Lanuza into a unique center.

A Pioneer center in the creation of a space that combines technology, robotics and creativity, a program for the improvement of school coexistence, a sustainable dining room, a school of thinkers and philosophers, the use of thinking skills and experiential learning in real  contexts are some of the strengths that allow their students to become, at the end of their studies, leading individuals who stand out for their ethical and technological values at the same time.

The excellence in languages and an established program of exchanges and stays abroad has been, since its origins, one of the pillars of the center, which today has enrolled more than 600 students, from 2 years to High School. All of them live from a very young day to day in two languages, and as the director of the School, Pilar Fernández Fortún, says, “the amount of stimuli (foreign languages, musical language, computer thinking etc) to those who are exposed  to them from such an early age, favors the creation of a dense neurological network that naturally facilitates a fluid learning “. In addition, after the age of 6, students take other languages, such as French, German or Chinese. The objective is to train global citizens who are prepared for a plural world, with critical and sustainable thinking.

EMPOWERMENT OF THE TEACHER

Our teaching staff stands out for its professionalism, talent, commitment and dedication. The School is committed to the professional development of each teacher by involving them in the same Strategic Plan.  The teacher, is the true mentor who “guides” each student getting “to bring the best out of themselves”, offering continuous feedback, and establishing challenges, based on their interests, abilities and capacities. The result – says the director – is the training of “competent, flexible and decisive” students, prepared to leave their comfort zone and access any university in the world, since through a global education, in entrepreneurship and values they have been given “the necessary tools that 21st century society demands.
