Last Friday the teachers and students of Secondary and Baccalaureate practiced sports together at the La Granja Sports Center.
The objective of this day is to promote empathy and relationships between students of the different Secondary and Baccalaureate Ed courses and teachers, through group sports, athletic events and Zumba classes.
It is already a traditional festival that we celebrate every September at the beginning of the course, so that students can get to know each other better. In addition, since last year, the organization of the event is in the hands of the students of the 2nd year of Bachillerato who study the subject of Physical Education and Active Life, led by their teacher and Coordinator of Complementary Activities, Jorge Molina.
The organization of the day was a success, as the boys and girls of the 2nd year of Bachillerato worked with interest. First, they teamed up with members of different courses and assigned them a color, which they communicated days in advance so that everyone had time to prepare their shirts: white, red, green, pink, … Then, they prepared a very varied schedule that made all could participate in different activities, races, relays, high jump, zumba, basketball, … When it was time for lunch, they were eating and resting in the park near the sports complex, to continue with the competitions of the afternoon session, this time, without the high school students who had already gone home, after a well-deserved applause given by everyone.
From the school we consider that these days are very important for the cohesion of the students within the spirit and values promoted by Juan de Lanuza. Solidarity, companionship, generosity and empathy are fostered. In addition to promoting a sports culture and physical activity, fundamental in the physical and mental development of adolescents, which benefits so much social and personal health provides.
The results of the tests are not the most important for us, because we are left with the environment that is created throughout the day: very pleasant, both for students and teachers, who enjoy a lot. We are sure that the climate of mutual respect and good harmony between different sexes, ages, and stages will last throughout the course.
