On the 31st March, our youngest students, the Ants, went on their first big excursion to the farm school La Torre. They met lots of different farm animals, and they learned about how they are born, how they live and what they eat. In fact they were able to feed the chickens, April the cow, and the sheep. As they’re so big and brave now, they even rode on Panchita the donkey.
This kind of experiential learning is enriching at any age, but particularly so at this early stage as it creates connections on all levels. Furthermore, being in contact with nature and animals encourages a sense of responsibility and respect towards the environment.
